Joseph is a freelance journalist formerly based in Beirut, Lebanon, where he investigated social issues, particularly around Syrian refugees and the migrant worker community.
During 2014-15 Joseph reported from Lebanon, Iraq and Kurdistan on the fallout of the Syrian civil war and the international efforts against ISIS .
Currently, Joseph is a studying for a Masters in Modern Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University where his research focuses on societal norms of religious violence in the region. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2014 with a first class degree in geography, having been a Director of the UK’s top student think tank, The Wilberforce Society, and a choral scholar of the world renowned choir of St John’s College, Cambridge.
A keen advocate of solo travel to the world’s more unusual corners, in recent years Joseph has toured the Middle East, travelled across Burma and sung in concert halls from Japan to Johannesburg.
